In fact, I loved reading so much that I ended up with a degree in comparative literature and English.

Writing Regency-era novels was not my original plan. I hoped to be a Doctorate candidate at an Ivy-League university, but life got in the way, and today the option doesn't seem as appealing when compared to writing my books. 

There is a unique joy in forming words and sentences that capture other people's hearts and minds, and I wouldn't exchange it for the entire world of academia. 

The only thing better is watching my two daughters grow up into beautiful people and spending time with my significant other. It isn't always easy to balance everyday life with writing, but I do my best to allow myself this joy as much as possible.
